I recently purchased a pair of your "Northern" boots. My wife and I live in cold country, northern Maine, and have been frustrated with attempting to find a boot that lives up to its claims. Well, yours do! It was -23 this morning (1/21/08), ambient temperature, not wind chill, and these boots are not only warm, but comfortable as well. We have chores to do outdoors everyday, regardless of the weather, and need gear that works. I am a professional guide and will certainly recommend your products to my clients. I am writing today to tell you that without question, I have NEVER had a boot last this long, feel this good on my feet or do the job better. I guide over 50 days of bird hunters per season, and typically would get one year of use out of a pair of boots from "Brand X, Y or Z". Your product is WELL worth the money, and a piece of equipment that as far as I'm concerned, no one should live without. We'll cover anywhere from 4-8 miles per day, and my Kenetreks look like the day I bought them. Snow, ice, rain, mud, sand, rocks, it doesn't matter. I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for producing such an outstanding product. I read about your boots in the Huntin Fool and since I was planning my 3rd sheep hunt I thought they would meet the demands that I would experience. I was able to harvest an outstanding bighorn sheep in the beautiful Canadian Rockies. I have to say that this hunt was the most extreme, by far, that I have ever experienced, and your boots got me through rugged and dangerous terrain with no surprises. The mountain was incredibly steep and after two days of climbing and descending, I experienced no soreness to my ankles or feet. Previously I had tried other boots that were supposed to be the best on the market. Well, after using your product I can tell the other manufactures that your boots now set the bar of excellence for the rest to follow. Again, what a great product! After meeting you last year at FNAWS, I purchased a pair of your Mountain Extreme Boots. The boots are far and away the best equipment that I have ever put on my feet. I had several pretty rigorous hunts this year and never had a blister or wet feet. All the pictures attached are from my 2007 season. I will also attach a picture of my Montana ram from 2006. Your boots are incredible! I know it may sound a little inflated as you advertise with us, but all BS aside, this is the best boot I have ever owned. I have applied some abuse to your boots with little wear shown. I'm a country boy always concerned about getting my moneys worth, and was a little apprehensive about the retail cost. I can assure you I have no doubt after four months that Kenetrek boots are more than worth the price.

My son Jason and I just returned from an extreme backpack hunt in the Yukon for Dall sheep where we averaged hiking over 10 miles a day straight up and straight down. We wore your Kenetrek Mountain Extreme boots. I was able to harvest a 12 year old, heavily broomed ram that had massive 14 1/2" bases. This was my 13th sheep hunt and on the last day we made a grueling 17 hour trek out of the bush on only 3 hours of sleep! I can honestly say your boots were fantastic! I used your 13" Grizzly Pac boots extensively throughout the winter and during our long snowy spring here in the central Colorado Rockies. Snowshoeing, winter coyote hunting and even some spring shed horn hunting gave me a chance to really test the boots. By adding your steel shanks and stiff midsoles, you have solved the problem with other pac boots that aren't built sturdy enough to take the rigors of hard-hunting. The construction of these boots are superb and they are definately built to be used as an everyday, all day, winter boot for those who demand quality and durability.

I wore your Mountain Extremes on two different backpack hunts in Colorado. The first hunt I went on for five days with a friend and we didn't harvest anything. I went back for another week by myself and killed a toad mule deer with my bow... Your boots performed amazingly well. I recently got out for a few days for myself. A 47 inch bull moose and a good whitetail buck. Should have some meat for the winter. The Kenetrek Gaiters are simply the best I have ever used. They are quiet and easy to put on and take off and the large size fits over a pac boot and wool pants.

Here is the picture of my sheep taken in the Salmon River country of Idaho. The foundation of a successful hunt is in your conditioning. The biggest limiting factor is the most important. The feet! The boots I selected were based on the country I was going to hunt and the Kenetrek boots were the right choice! They handled the steep, rocky terrain of the Salmon River gorge with no problem. Wish my body did as well. How does one condition for such country? ......I guess you have to live there! Thanks Jim for a great product.

I was able to use a pair of Kenetrek boots this past guiding season in Yukon. With the riggers of being in on 5 to 6 sheep hunts in a season these boots performed great. With a great product and service to boot, I would recommend trying a pair on your next hunting adventure.

I recently bought a pair of your Mountain Extreme boots, I have very sensitive feet and have had Plantar Fasciitis for about 5 years. I can not just wear anything and my closet has about $2500 worth of hunting boots in it from the last couple of years. This year I was going to Wyoming to hunt in Region H which is very steep and after the first few weeks of our California early season I realized my Lowa Sheep hunters were not going to work out. I was thinking I would have to have some custom boots made, but figured I would first waste another $300 on your boots. The first time I put them on they really felt great. I just returned from 12 days in those rugged Wyoming mountains and each day my feet never felt so good. I can't say as much for my body, but what a treat to not have to worry about my feet everyday. I really had a great hunt and just wanted to thank you guys.

I just want to let you know how pleased I am with my new Mountain Extreme boots. The design and quality are superb. They seemed to engulf my feet in absolute comfort. However you accomplished building a boot like this while keeping the weight down to a minimum is fantastic! Right out of the box, I tried them on a seven mile hike. The next day I wore them on a twelve mile hike. I was even able to jog a couple of those miles. No hot spots, binding or any discomfort at all. In the past 40 years of rugged mountain hunting, this is by far the best boot I have ever worn. They will be the only footwear I will use on my Yukon trip in August. After speaking with Jim it was obvious that he knew what he was talking about and had a lot of experience not only in making boots, but personal knowledge from a hunter's perspective. It only took a few seconds to decide on a boot after trying on a pair of the Kenetrek Mountain Extremes. I wore them the next day as we climbed some coulees and participated in a 3d shoot. It was like I had worn them for a year as they felt like they were already broken in. I have been wearing these boots regularly as I trek up and down the coulees for mulies, the mountains for elk, the whitetails in the north, and the forests and swamps for my favorite of all big gamers - the swamp donkey. These are a very versatile and comfortable boot. I am so impressed with them that when I return to Montana I will be grabbing another pair. I got my boots today as a birthday present and I wanted to tell you that they are by far the best, most comfortable boots I have ever worn. I'm 63 years old today and have spent most of my life doing outdoor things. I walk 2 to 5 miles per day, and am an avid hunter (I just finished the deer season, I got four this year - one trophy buck). When I was in my late twentys and early thirties, I bummed all over the country... backpacking and just camping. At the time I had state-of-the-art hiking boots that I lived in. They were in no way as comfortable as my new Kenetrek Mountain Extremes. these things are better than anything I have ever seen. Just walking in them is a pleasure. Keep up the good work!!!

I have never worn a more comfortable, durable boot that had such traction. They even passed the gumbo mud test of eastern Montana. They kept their traction without packing mud into the soles. I am not sure how they did it but this is an incredible boot.

After drawing a premier turkey tag in Montana, I hunted an area that was a tangle of underbrush and marshy river bottom. My new Kenetrek Pac Boots were the best boots for this hunt. I am very pleased with their sure grip and super ankle support. The warmth and comfort of these pacs after a day of creek crossings in freezing temperatures left me dry and ready for the next bend. First I would like to say that your gaiters are the best I've ever owned. They are a valued piece of my gear. I found this pair last fall at the Sportsman's Warehouse in Missoula. After my son killed a bull elk down in a hole, I gave the gaiters to friend who helped us get the bull out. I then tried to find another pair locally, and everyone was sold out! I called and ordered them directly from Kenetrek and had to pay $5 more. This time, I ordered an extra pair. I guess I sometimes take hunting and my hunting gear too serious. The Kenetrek Northern Boots were great on the wolf hunt. Average temperatures were from -10 to 10 degrees above zero (Farenheight). No cold feet for six days. Didn't have any luck but we are going to British Columbia in September for 10 days and should do better then.

For nigh onto 20 years I've entrusted the care of my feet to Jim and, so far, he's never let me -- or my feet -- down. Whether I've been hot on the trail of monster desert muleys or scurrying up and down scree slopes in pursuit of wild sheep, hunting tom turkeys, deep woods whitetails, Booner antelope or bugling elk, Jim's boot designs are the best I've ever used. Jim's boot designs have even served me well during a two-week stint that encompassed 100 miles across the Alaskan tundra, and if that isn't a testimonial a diehard hunter can take to the bank, well, I don't know what is. If Jim Winjum is going into the boot business for himself, all I can say is, "It's about time!"
